Mountain Maljen
Mountain Maljen (1.096 m) is situated in western Serbia, about 100 km SW of Belgrade. More famous is its part, Divcibare plateau surrounded by several peaks and saddles, covered with large areas of colorful meadows and pine woodland. Several small and large limestone gorges intercept mountain ridges and bring very rich flora and fauna into region. The micro-climate of the area is rather pleasant, with 280 annual sunny days.
Birds include: Black Stork, Griffon Vulture, Golden Eagle, Short-toed Eagle, Peregrine Falcon, Rock Partridge, Hazel Grouse, Eagle Owl, Scops Owls, Grey-headed Woodpecker, Middle Spotted Woodpecker, Lesser Spotted Woodpecker, Nightjar, Woodlark, Red-rumped Swallow, Grey Wagtail, Rock Thrush, Sombre Tit, Crested Tit, Willow Tits, Nutcracker, Common Crossbill, Ortolan Bunting, Cirl Bunting, Rock Bunting.
