Gruza Lake
Gruza lake is located in Central Serbia, region of Sumadija, close to city of Kragujevac.
Theare no protected sites of nature in this region of Serbia, but Gruza lake is one of the places where migratory birds can rest and re-fuel their fat store. Around 150 bird species have been recorded on and around the lake.
Birds include: Pigmy Cormorant, Great Bittern, Little Bittern, Great White Egret, Squacco Heron, Purple Heron, White-tailed Eagle, Marsh Harrier, Hobby, Water Rail, Little Crake, Black-winged Stilt, Snipe, Marsh Sandpiper, Black Tern, Turtle Dove, Cuckoo, Scops Owl, Little Owl, Long-eared Owl, Kingfisher, Green Woodpecker, Syrian Woodpecker, Lesser-spotted Woodpecker, Wryneck, Skylark, Sand Martin, Yellow Wagtail, Redstart, Stonechat, Sedge Warbler, Savi's Warbler, Great Reed Warbler, Marsh Warbler, Spotted Flycatcher, Red-backed Shrike, Tree Pipit, Yellowhammer, Ortolan Bunting, Corn Bunting.
